October 5-11

So...just re-read last week's entry and learned from it all over again.  My principal was incredibly rude to me at school today, and I got flustered and a little worked up about it...I'm over it now but had I remembered last week's verses in the moment, I might have been less emotional.  I foresee lots of similar situations in the future, so maybe I better type up or write out those verses and put them where I'll see them often!  :)

We are trying something new now....if you'd like to read Esther, go ahead, but if you are reading something else, that's fine too!  And you may share either by posting here, or by taking a couple minutes on Sunday to tell us what got to you this week.  :)

Passages (click links to read):
Esther 1:13-22
Proverbs 14:8
Ephesians 5:33

S- "However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband."  --Ephesians 5:33

O- Husbands need to be reminded to love their wives unselfishly, and wives need to be reminded to respect their husbands.

A- Amazing how spot-on Paul was about husband and wife relationships--or even just girl-guy relationships.  If you girls haven't already heard all about love and respect in a relationship/marriage, you will soon enough!  Start putting this lesson into practice right now by being careful about how you speak to the guys in your life....dad, grandfather, brother, friends, etc.  Ask them what they think is the difference between teasing and being silly vs. being disrespectful and hurtful--you might be surprised at what they say!  It's definitely good to be silly and have fun sometimes, but it's easy to accidentally go too far and hurt the guy in question without even realizing it.

P- Dear God, thank you for showing us even in these words that were written 2000 years ago, how to have a successful marriage, in a nutshell.  And thank you for giving us friends and family to practice these skills on before marriage, so that it will be easier in marriage if that is the future for each one of these girls!

Alright girls...your turn!  No right or wrong way to SOAP...just do your study and post your thoughts or write them down to share on Sunday!  Be sure to come back and read what others have posted, and feel free to comment back and forth so we can "chat!"  :)
